I absolutely loved my Pebble smartwatches with their simple understated but very effective design. I have a hard time finding a half decent replacement. Touch screens on smartwatches works best on YouTube demos but not in real life, with wet fingers or not looking at the screen (as the article also points out). ThemThen there's battery life. With the YouTube friendly power hungry OLED displays, almost nothing could keep up with 10 days on a single charge.
About half a year ago I bought a Garmin Fenix 5. It's a target expensive but we'll built watch, two full weeks of power and exclusively controlled by buttons. But a smart watch it is not, and for some reason Garmin will not even attempt to do even half an effort to go there. Sad. It could be a very serious Pebble replacement. If only...
